From time to time free amateur radio license workshop are offered over one weekend. Enrollment is limited and you MUST register.

AMATEUR RADIO LICENSE EXAMS!
FLARC sponsors FCC license exams, which are held on the FIRST Saturday of each month at Space Place, 2300 South Park Street, Madison, WI from 8a.m. to 10 a.m. No advanced notice/reservations necessary.
Exams will also be held 3 times per year following the regular FLARC Amateur Radio Classes. Reservations not required.

Directions to Space Place: From the Beltline (Hwys 12-18), take the Park Street exit north. Go about 0.5 mile. Space Place is on the left in the Villager Mall. Enter by the door at the large “Atrium” sign. Space Place is in the lower level.
GETTING A LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME?

You can get your Technician Class license in only two days! Home study before the workshop is very important. We strongly suggest that you purchase the latest edition of The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual. You can get that manual via the web from The National Association for Amateur Radio or from Ham Radio Outlet. The Manual may, also, be available at the local book stores. This workshop is recommended for people interested in getting their license for the first time.
ALREADY HAVE YOUR HAM LICENSE? UPGRADE TO GENERAL CLASS

You can upgrade your Technician (or Novice) Class ham radio license to General Class at our two-day workshop. Home study before the workshop is strongly recommended. We suggest the latest edition of ARRL’s “General Class License Manual” available from The National Association for Amateur Radio or from Ham Radio Outlet. As the workshop weekend approaches we will send you a syllabus to tell you what material will be covered in the workshop sessions. A license exam session immediately follows the workshop. We will take a lunch break (Dutch treat) plus other breaks, each day.
